Web Site Helps Parent Understand Clinical Research in Children- 3/4/2009

Children and Clinical Studies is an educational Web site designed to help parents and health professionals understand the issues surrounding pediatric research. The Web site, created by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in partnership with other National Institutes of Health institutes and outside organizations, explains why pediatric research is important, things to consider before joining a study, and what happens during a study. Content includes an award-winning video that features children, parents, and experts exploring the challenges and rewards of pediatric research. The site also provides information on available resources as well as on measures to ensure the safety of young research participants. The Web site and video are available online
